“Das Boot” (1981) is a highly acclaimed German 𝑤𝑎𝑟 film directed by Wolfgang Petersen. It is based on the 1973 novel of the same name by Lothar-Günther Buchheim, who drew from his own experiences as a 𝑤𝑎𝑟 correspondent during World 𝑤𝑎𝑟 II.
